This was a beautiful love story and we catch up with Nellie and Blake which I really enjoyed. I always love to find out what happens to the people we first meet. There are surprises, sex, and wonderful characters. There is abuse between Nick's sister, Sarah, and her husband, John, and with her past history working with abused women at her father's congregation, Annie is right there to help. If you love mail order bride books, and romantic books set in the past, don't miss this series. They don't have to be read in order, but why miss out on Nellie and Blake's story?

About the Author
Cynthia Woolf is the award winning and best-selling author of fifteen historical western romance books. She was born in Denver, Colorado and raised in the mountains west of Golden. She spent her early years running wild around the mountain side with her friends.
Their closest neighbor was about one quarter of a mile away, so her little brother was her playmate and her best friend. That fierce friendship lasted until his death in 2006.
Cynthia was and is an avid reader. Her mother was a librarian and brought new books home each week. This is where young Cynthia first got the storytelling bug. At age ten, she wrote her first romance about a little boy she liked at the time.
Cynthia credits her wonderfully supportive husband Jim and the great friends she's made at CRW for saving her sanity and allowing her to explore her creativity.

I started to read this book, I was captivated by Annie she is such a surprise. Her will to keep her faith in God and her morals and beliefs, Annie was debated when husband died and her left her with debt, she was about too give birth, she came to friend Nellie for help and of course she took her in and she had a daughter who is the world to her, then there was this young man named Nick, very handsome, very strong, very caring and very living to Annie's baby, the moment he saw that little beauty he was lost, he runs a saloon, Annie had issues with it because of the way she was brought up in the world, he father is a preacher. This book is so good I could not put it down until I finished it, the moral of this story is never judge someone by the face of the book until you can open it and read its contents. Annie's father did this until he realized that it was not the case with Nick. Love the book thank you for giving hope and peace of mind to everyone out there who needs it.

I fell in love with Nick and Annie's story!

Annie Markum White was a mail order bride who showed up on her friend Nellie’s doorstep at the age of 23 widowed, pregnant, and penniless. She didn’t want to be a burden to anyone, however she didn’t know how she was going to make it and support her unborn child. The only thing she could do was ask for help. She ends up having a beautiful little girl Evie, but she needs to find a way to get the money for passage for her and Evie to go back home with her father whom is a pastor. Therefore, she ends up working for Nick and Blake as a cook in their Saloon.
Nick Cartwright it was love at first sight with Annie. He fell in love with her at his best friend/business partners wedding however, he found out she was a mail order bride and was going to marry another man. Therefore, he didn’t pursue anything with her. A year later he is there when she show’s up a Nellie and Blake’s. Fate has intervened and given him another chance at love with Annie the only problem is he owns a saloon and her father wouldn’t approve. So he has to try to convince her to take a chance on love and on him.
Annie falls in love with Nick, and Nick falls even more in love with Annie and her precious baby girl Evie. However, will love be enough or will she return home to her father?

Don't Be Stubborn Long.

I just loved this story about Annie. Nick and Annie fell deeply in love from the moment they saw each other. But Nick owning a salon was against Annie's father who was a Minister. Her up bringing refused that there marriage would work do to Salons are for wicked people of the devil. Annie tried to explain this to Nick but he tried to explain to her there was no prostitution going on at all. This here starts the story but there is 95 percent of the story I haven't told. So much happenings occur that this story is a must to read and the ending leaves you happy with some tears. I wish this story would keep going and not stop. Happy Reading to all.
