Excellent resource for rookie preppers!

While this material may be just "common sense" for many people, I found it to be extremely helpful. As a widow who relied upon her husband for 35 years to take care of many of the day to day preparedness tasks, from finances to household repairs, yard work, and security, I have found it frightening to feel so vulnerable without him. I have watched Mr. Kobler's Southern Prepper 1 You Tube Channel and have learned a great deal. do it was only natural to purchase a book he collaborated upon. To have this information summarized and systematically presented is a great comfort to me and quite empowering to realize that I can, in fact learn to take care of myself, as well as perhaps learn new skills to help take care of others. As a retired pastor, I deeply appreciate that the authors begin their book with how to develop a strong spiritual foundation to enhance one's physical survivablility. The plan they lay out in the whole book should be easy for most people to follow if they are willing to develop the self discipline approach to prepping set forth in the book. I highly recommend the book for neophyte preppers. Well done.

It Doesn't Get More Practical & Applicable Than This!!!

Really a practical resource... As others have mentioned it goes beyond the "beans, bullets & band aids" and adds some very important items that many books fail to address... Body, Soul and Budget are often overlooked and I think they are really vital... I know it has motivated me to rededicate myself to increasing my level of fitness... Some have complained that the book is too short or too shallow... I can sort of understand that BUT I also think that it is good because of that... It is not a 600 page manual that a reader will get intimidated by and never apply because they are overwhelmed... I also appreciated how practical and applicable it was... Didn't get all bogged down in this brand vs. that brand... I also appreciated the fact that is revealed to me a couple of areas where I was out of balance... I don't think I am alone in thinking that because I have some training, I have done research, and because I am "at it" diligently that I automatically do things in the right ratio... I see in my life how some things I have neglected- and others where I can probably ease off a little until I restore the balance... Love the Youtube channel Southernprepper1and have been a HUGE fan of all of Mark's other books as well... Great job!!! This is a "must have" for the novice and veteran alike...

Failure to plan ...

Failure to plan is planning to fail - David & Mark have compiled a great strategy to increase anyone's odds of surviving an emergency situation, with the benefit of improving their daily life. The Seven Step Survival Plan adds a few more "B's" to the "beans, bullets and band-aids" basics of disaster planning - Body/Mind/Soul & Budget, to help bring Balance.
Does having a decked out "Bug out Bag really help much if you have a heart attack while carrying it? - Body
Knowledge weighs nothing and can be with you at all times. Hopeful or hopeless? - Mind
Despite all their skills and outdoor experience, Euell Gibbons and Ron Hood still died, like everyone else. - Soul
And - Just because the Feds can spend money they don't have, doesn't mean you should too! - Budget.
SSSP will help all old/new preppers - to make a realistic plan that can be achieved and help fill any gaps in an existing one; it's a valuable addition to your survival library.
